You can contact Roof by Telephone, Email or by Fax - whichever way you choose, we are always happy to hear from you. You can contact us by:

We are open Monday - Friday from 11am until 6pm and on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from 8am - 10pm. You can sometimes find us out and about in the community during and outside of these hours. If you are worried about the cost of the call, we will call you back during office hours. Due to the costs involved, we can only call you back on a geographical landline number (numbers with a dialing code beginning with 01/02/03).

Emergency Information - if you or someone you know is at risk of immediate homelessness:

If you are at risk of immediate street homelessness, please telephone us, do not Email us. If we are not open please contact Shelter's telephone helpline on 0808 800 4444 for free housing advice. Calls are free from the main mobile telephones including 3, O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin and Vodafone and all landlines. Shelter's helpline has a wealth of recorded information available 24 hours a day including when they are not open.

Shelter is open Monday - Friday between 8am and 8pm and on weekends between 8am and 5pm. If you get the engaged tone or you are are asked to call again, please do keep trying.

You should also contact your Local Authority (Your local "Council") as soon as you can, they will have an emergency telephone number which you can find in your telephone directory or by calling the normal telephone number and listening to any recorded information or by following the instructions.

You should ask for a call back from the Duty homelessness officer at your local Council who will be available outside of office hours. If you or somebody you know is vulnerable, please ask for a call back from the Emergency Duty Social Worker available outside of office hours.

You or the person you know may also be entitled to free legal advice. To find details of local legal professionals who can help you you can contact Community Legal Advice on 0845 345 4 345 - they are open Monday - Friday from 9am - 8pm and on Saturdays from 9am - 12:30pm. Community Legal Advice can sometimes transfer you straight through to a legal adviser.
